A True and Inspiring Story on Shivaratri
Lord Shiva is easily pleased on the night of Shivaratri. Here is a story that happened one such night that illustrates this fact. There was this hunter who had killed many birds in a forest and was chased by a hungry lion. To save himself, he climbed a bilva tree under which happened to be a Shiva Lingam. The lion waited the entire night for its prey. To fight off sleep, the hunter kept plucking it’s leaves which fell on the lingam along with dewdrops. Lord Shiva was immensely pleased by even this simplest form of worship. He consequently saved the hunter despite the sins committed by his act of killing. How much more blessed wouldn’t your worship be if you were to wholeheartedly and consciously do so. God bless!
